How we look at ourselves have a lot to do with the way others see us. No matter how expert we are at articulating our intentions our clothing tells us something and still end-up in chaos when our clothes sends a message contrary to our intent.

The ultimate rule for being fashionable is appropriateness.

If everyone is going to a party with their casual clothing then wear the same and go with the flow.  You do not need to be in uniform but go with the trend.  Do not show up in your stunning million dollar clothes. That is not beingfashionable or chic. It is awkward as if you misinterpreted the occasion and look as if you are trying to prove something.

 In todays busy and complex environment when changing an outfit is no longer a priority, wear clothes that respond to your need for a non-stop glamour from morning till night. Or,  try to schedule your event that requires you to change clothes. Or bring some extra with you so may be able to change work clothes to an after 5 cocktail gathering.

 Unfortunately, there is no such thing as all-in-one look. One must find an effort to change and understand the different ways to achieve appropriateness.
